GRACE Schedule

GRACE is a drop-in enrichment program, and participants have the option to choose which sessions they would like to attend. All sessions take place at the GRACE Space unless otherwise stated.

About the Program

We believe that every person has inherent value in God’s eyes, and our programs are designed to empower our participants to live with independence and contribute to their communities.

The GRACE program includes weekly activities for adults 18+ including music, cooking, and art, as well as regularly scheduled outings and community service projects. Through these activities, we strive to get each and every participant to a place of independence and integration into the local community--all while having fun together!

GRACE participants can choose which days and sessions they wish to participate depending on their interests and schedule. When accepted into the program, participants pay a flat monthly fee of $35, and are invited to join the activities any time they please.

GRACE Sessions

Art

Our wonderful volunteers teach GRACE participants how to express their creativity using the elements of art. They create projects inspired by classical works, varying cultures, and their own personal lives.

Cooking

GRACE offers weekly cooking and baking sessions, as well as monthly health and nutrition classes. Cooking classes are a participant favorite!

Music

GRACE participants are given opportunities to experience music in various ways, from practicing instruments, writing songs, or singing karaoke.

Social-Emotional Activities

We provide opportunities for GRACE participants to work on their social and emotional skills throughout the week, covering a diverse array of topics and skills!

Bible Study

GRACE participants are growing deeper in their faith through various teaching techniques. Each lesson includes skits, visuals, worship, and interactive exercises.

Ballroom Dance

Ballroom Dance offers much more than dancing: it also teaches proper etiquette and confidence in groups. Our dedicated volunteers glide our participants across the floor for weekly FUN!

Community Service

Involvement in the community is important for everyone! GRACE staff organize regular community service opportunities for participants and volunteers to participate in.

Outings / Day Trips

GRACE participants take part in regular outings and day trips in and around Bakersfield. We offer a variety of fun and educational trips throughout the year!
